Sky Italia latest to order adaptation of Channel 4 format Tempting Fortune

Tempting Fortune is heading to Sky Italia

Pay TV broadcaster Sky Italia has ordered a local version of UK format Tempting Fortune, originally created by Voltage TV for public broadcaster Channel 4.

Sky Italia has ordered a six-episode run from Italian producer, Blu Yazmine. The format is also in production for a major Nordic broadcaster, with both commissions being filmed at Voltage’s international production hub in Malaysia.

The deals were secured by the format’s distributor Cineflix Rights following the show’s second season launch on C4 on Sunday March 16.

Turkish production giant AcunMedya  is in production for a minimum 15-episode second season for Mexico’s TV Ateca, alongside first seasons for unnamed broadcasters in Greece and Romania. The Voltage TV format has also now been optioned in 15 countries worldwide.

Tempting Fortune is a reality adventure format featuring a group of strangers who have to journey through a remote wilderness with an epic cash prize awaiting them. To keep the money, all they have to do is reach a designated finish line some 18 days of trekking away – without spending it. But as they make their way across tough and hostile terrain they’ll be met with tantalising and enticing temptations the cost of which is removed from their shared prize pot.
